If you're looking for an easy and cheap plant-based milk option then look no further! My simple oat milk recipe is so much cheaper than the store bought kind and it's completely free of weird chemicals and preservatives. I will bet you that you won't be able to find a cheaper option whether it's vegan or actual cows milk. The flavour of the oat milk is not as neutral as soy milk or rice milk but it's very creamy and has an "oaty" flavour.
This recipe will make about 1 liter of oat milk and it will last 4-5 days in the fridge. You'll need a glass bottler or container, a blender and a strainer with cloth (see pictures)
100g of oats
1 liter of cold water
Cover the 100g of oats with a bit of water and lets it soak for 20 min.
Blend the soaked oats in a blender for min. 10 min.
Strain the blended oats with a cloth strainer (I place a clean linen cloth in a strainer and the poor the blended oats into the cloth strainer)
Twist out the milk thru the linen cloth and into a bowl
Transfer the strained liquid from the bowl into clean glass bottle container.
